Notre Dame football is set to take on Army on November 23rd for their annual Shamrock Series. The game is set for Saturday, November 23rd at 7 PM Eastern time at Yankee Stadium. This tradition began in 2009, and it has become a Summer custom for the program to unveil the uniforms that they will wear in the game. It is a day that usually brings a lot of optimism and excitement.
Those uniforms were finally set for the public to see this morning. Here are the jerseys being worn by star tight end Mitchell Evans, cornerback Benjamin Morrison, and Xavier Watts by the Notre Dame official X account. The following images caught quite an uproar across social media.
Every individual is going to have varying opinions of this latest Shamrock Series uniforms. Notre Dame definitely went for the flash in this look, choosing a more tempered main color with the attention of really letting the numbers shine through, quite literally. Judging by the response on X, some Irish fans really like the unique look and color scheme.

For others, the shine from the numbers is just way too much. On the positive side, the "ND" logo on the sleeve does look pretty sharp and they kept the traditional golden helmet the same, which is always a great thing. Maybe different colored pants would have made the grey-blue color pop more but they just come off incredibly bland.
It's in the details ✨

In the end, if Notre Dame throttles the Black Knights, fans won't remember much about what they were wearing. This has the chance to be just a funny memory of a less than exciting uniform reveal. If the Notre Dame program was trying to find a major reaction to this announcement, they got just that. Unfortunately, the general feedback will not be quite as complimentary as they might hope for.
