Former Notre Dame offensive tackle Blake Fisher put together some tremendous flashes for the Irish during his three-year career. It was up and down at times, but opted to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Fisher is now down in Indianapolis to participate in the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. He spoke to the media on Friday, answering questions about his Irish career, draft process and prospects on the next level.
Here is what Fisher had to say during the session.
Fisher on Combine experience and Joe Alt:
"It’s been a great time. It’s been pretty cool here. It’s exciting. We’re here now. I loved our time at Notre Dame. We came in together. It’s really comfortable being here with someone you know, and be able to compress."
Fisher on interview experience:
"It’s been good. I have been watching some ball in some of the interviews. They have been letting me draw some plays up, asking me some background questions about film and everything."
Fisher on Michael Mayer:
"I love Big Mike. I spoke to him about a week and a half ago. I was just asking him about what to expect and things to prepare for. He’s a great mentor."
Fisher on draft preparation:
"I’ve been training down in Dallas, Texas with Duke Manyweather over the last eight weeks. I’ve been working out a lot. I’m just perfecting my craft."
Fisher on decision to declare early:
"My process was a lot of consulting. I spoke with my coaches, Coach (Joe) Rudolph, Coach (Marcus) I Freeman, my agents and my family. I just wanted to know where they saw me and if I was ready. Coach Rudolph gave me the green light and thought I was ready. From there, it was about making a plan and keeping things as smooth as possible."
Fisher on meeting with Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
"It was a great meshing. There was a lot of great energy. They told me they have Tristan (Wirfs) on the left side and I could be on the right."
Fisher on meeting with Dallas Cowboys:
"I have met with the Dallas Cowboys. It was great. It was a lot of film watching there. You don’t fully break down the film, but just ask questions. I feel most comfortable there and see what I’m about."
Fisher on best games at Notre Dame:
"I would say Ohio State and USC this year. You can see my run game dominance and impact I can have. It’s really any game that can show what I can bring to the table."
Fisher on visit with the Baltimore Ravens:
"It was good. I love him. He’s a great guy. I talked to Ronnie (Stanley) a little bit as well. They love it out there. And Baltimore and Kyle and Ronnie are doing great things."
Fisher on competing at the Combine:
"It's a blessing to be here. I would not have gotten here without a lot of hard work and dedication. For the most part, I've had a lot of great guys in my room. Notre Dame was a great place to learn and prepare for the next level."
