High school recruiting continues to be a big point of emphasis for Notre Dame Fighting Irish head coach Marcus Freeman. It's apparent in the team's 2027 recruiting class, which ranks eighth in the nation with eight commitments.

While the group already has an impressive set of talent, the Fighting Irish are far from done. In fact, there are several positions Freeman has yet to land, including defensive line. However, David Folorunsho has caught Notre Dame's attention.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 285 pounds, he is a five-star recruit, the No. 2 defensive lineman and the No. 9 player in the nation, according to Rivals.

He took his second unofficial visit with Notre Dame on Saturday. Following his time in South Bend, Folorunsho spoke highly of the Fighting Irish in an article from On3's vice president of recruiting, Steve Wiltfong.

”My experience was great, really had the opportunity to go and learn how they would use me... Coach Freeman is a defensive-oriented guy and you can tell that his players all love playing for him," Folorunsho said. "You can tell everyone cares about one another and it really is more than football over there."

It's a good thing for Notre Dame to hear, considering the competition they are facing. The pass rusher has also taken visits with programs such as the Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, Indiana Hoosiers, Michigan Wolverines, and Texas Tech Red Raiders.

As of now, though, it appears to be the Fighting Irish's battle to lose. The Rivals recruiting prediction machine gives them the best chance (76.1%) to land his commitment. Texas Tech is in second place at 19.2%.
