Ohio State Buckeyes fall to No. 9 in latest AP Top 25 poll; Oregon Ducks soar to No. 4

The Ohio State Buckeyes fell to No. 9 in The Associated Press' latest college football poll after a disappointing 35-28 loss to the Oregon Ducks on Saturday.

Freshman quarterback C.J. Stroud threw for 484 yards and three touchdowns, but the Buckeyes defense couldn't keep up, allowing Ducks running back CJ Verdell to accumulate 195 total yards and three touchdowns.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day called the Buckeyes' loss to Oregon "unacceptable" and said they've "got to get it fixed."

Oregon's performance against Ohio State vaulted it to No. 4 in the AP's latest poll. The Ducks were No. 12 last week.

The Alabama Crimson Tide remained No. 1 this week after a 48-14 win over the Mercer Bears. Bryce Young threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns in his second game of the season.
