The Ohio State Buckeyes have had to ride the roller coaster during this 2026 recruiting cycle, which has seen its ups and downs. Ohio State has a top-10 class, but they’ve missed on several key targets over the last few months. Some of that has to do with the way the Buckeyes are approaching revenue sharing and NIL due to some things that are still unclear there. With 21 recruits currently committed, the Buckeyes will add a few more to round out the class.
The Buckeyes were always going to revisit a ton of players this fall and winter to see where their development had taken them, also after some of the top targets made their decisions. Ohio State has been connected to offensive linemen and defensive backs lately, but now they’ve thrown their hat into landing another linebacker for the 2026 class. The Buckeyes extended an offer to Massillon Washington (OH) LB Ja’Dyn Williams, who has been committed to Indiana since early June.

Williams attends a very familiar high school program for the Buckeyes in Northeast Ohio but he’s committed to one of the up-and-coming programs in the Big Ten. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker is ranked as the No. 50 linebacker in the country and No. 660 player nationally for the class of 2026. Williams has north of 20 offers from programs like Kentucky, Rutgers, Boston College, and Cincinnati. Ohio State has Glenville (OH) LB Cincere Johnson along with Olentangy (OH) CJ Sanna in the current class.
Ohio State’s linebacker room is in good shape with Sonny Styles and Arvell Reese leading things currently. James Laurinaitis went out and landed Riley Pettijohn and Tarvos Alford last cycle and both will be starting for the Buckeyes as soon as next season. If the Buckeyes can get Williams on campus for an official visit, their chances of landing him go way up.
