Saturday is a day when quite a few former Ohio State Buckeyes are embarking on their NFL careers on Day 3 of the NFL draft. Back in Columbus, the current staff was working the transfer portal.
Since Tyler Bowen became the offensive line coach for the Buckeyes after coming over from Virginia Tech where he was the offensive coordinator, additions have been aggressive along the offensive line.
Ohio State lost Josh Simmons, Donovan Jackson, Seth McLaughlin, and Josh Fryar from the starting offensive line for their National Championship team. Since then, they’ve added transfers Phillip Daniels and Ethan Onianwa in the winter portal. Now, Ohio State has an addition for that unit in the spring portal.
West Virginia OT Justin Terry took to X on Saturday afternoon to announce that he was coming back home to join the Buckeyes. Terry was a three-star recruit out of Pickerington Central High School and held 10 offers. While the Buckeyes didn’t offer him out of high school, they’ve now brought him in as depth.

Terry is a large human at 6-foot-5 and 338 pounds and gives the Buckeyes another depth option at offensive tackle where they were a bit short. Onianwa and Daniels are the expected starters, though that isn’t official yet. Ian Moore and Deontae Armstrong are backups for the Buckeyes. After that it is freshmen Carter Lowe and Jayvon McFadden.
While Terry wasn’t heavily recruited out of high school, he now has a chance to show that he should have been with Ohio State. Not exactly a move that was talked about for the Buckeyes making but bringing a Columbus area native back will set well with Buckeye Nation. Terry joins DE Beau Atkinson as the two transfer portal additions for Ohio State this spring.
