Ohio State Could Lose Another QB to Transfer Portal
Adam Cairns/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Ohio State Buckeyes have had a lot of things happen since they won the national championship.

Prior to the championship win, Ohio State saw quarterback Air Noland transfer to South Carolina. After the win, Devin Brown decided to take his talents to California.

Also, the Buckeyes ended up losing both offensive coordinator Chip Kelly and defensive coordinator Jim Knowles. Ryan Day has had a lot going on that forced him to move on from enjoying the national championship very quickly.

Now, there is speculation that Ohio State could end up losing another quarterback to the NCAA transfer portal after spring practice.

Fox Sports analyst RJ Young believes that there is a good case to be made for expecting Lincoln Kienholz to transfer. He doesn't see Kienholz being able to earn playing time while competing with Julian Sayin and Tavien St. Clair.

During a recent segment on "The Number One College Football Show," Young explained his reasoning.

“Does he (Lincoln Kienholz) want to go back up somewhere else, or does he want to stick it out? I honestly look at him, and I say, dude, you could probably go torch someone if you just went to Tulane, Tulsa, or Boise State, for that matter, right?" Young said. "You keep going down the line on the Sacramento State with Brennan Marion (their head coach). There are places for him to go to show out. I don’t know that Ohio State is going to be that place.”

Kienholz finds himself as the projected No. 3 quarterback on the roster. He is committed to competing for playing time, but that could change depending on how spring practice goes.

Throughout his career with the Buckeyes, Kienholz has completed 10 of his 22 pass attempts for 111 yards.
