The Ohio State Buckeyes have yet to decide who their starting quarterback will be to start the upcoming 2025 college football season. At this point in time, Julian Sayin and Lincoln Kienholz are competing for the job.
Sayin is still widely considered to be the front-runner to win the job. However, until that decision is made, he'll need to continue showing his ability on the field.
Last offseason, Sayin made the decision to transfer from Alabama to Ohio State. He saw very limited time on the field in his first year with the Buckeyes, completing five of his 12 pass attempts for 84 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions, while also rushing for 24 yards on two attempts.
Looking ahead to the 2025 season, there are many questions about what he can do at this stage of his young career.
Dave Biddle of BuckNuts spoke out about Sayin with a strong statement, but he also posed a very important question.
“I’m convinced he’s gonna be a good starting QB at Ohio State. My question is how early?" he said.

With any young quarterback, there are a lot of question that need to be answered. Sayin is no different.
Ohio State does have an elite situation to offer a young signal caller. Ryan Day will have Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate leading the way at the wide receiver position with new transfer addition tight end Max Klare as a top-tier security blanket.
If Sayin does indeed win the starting job, he'll have plenty of dynamic weapons to work with. No quarterback could ask for more than that.
