With the Ohio State National Championship win marking the end of the college football season, the attention now turns toward future decisions for the Buckeyes.

Multiple players will have to make decisions on whether or not they will enter the NFL draft, while some are deciding if they want to enter the transfer portal.

The latest Buckeye to find a new home is an offensive lineman with two years of remaining eligibility.

Offensive lineman George Fitzpatrick entered the transfer portal recently and opted to stick with the Buckeyes through the National Championship run. Now that Ohio State’s season is wrapped up, Fitzpatrick has signed to play at Kansas State next season. An interesting spot for Fitzpatrick, who was a four-star offensive tackle in the class of 2022.

Fitzpatrick was a guard and tackle depth option for the Buckeyes in 2024 after appearing in three games in 2022. The junior redshirted as a freshman and 2024 was his third full year in the program. Fitzpatrick is the third offensive lineman to transfer, joining Zen Michalski and Miles Walker.

Transferring to Kansas State, Fitzpatrick will join LB Gabe Powers, who recently transferred to be a Wildcat from Ohio State as well.

Fitzpatrick was again set to be a backup for the Buckeyes next season, now he will get an opportunity to play more significantly with Kansas State. Ohio State has added two transfer portal players who could start on their offensive line next year, Ethan Onianwa and Phillip Daniels.

Ohio State still has a number of players who need to make their NFL draft decisions. Additionally, a few players could still opt to hit the transfer portal while the window is open.
