Grambling State Will Bring the Pressure

The Tigers were great at taking the ball away last season.

Few defenses in the FCS were stronger at getting into the backfield, forcing 26 on the year. It kept it all going to start the season, dominating against Langston with three takeaways, and getting into the backfield enough to hold the Lions to -32 rushing yards.

Ohio State’s offensive front shouldn’t have too many problems, but Grambling State’s pass rushers should provide a bit of a push.

Ohio State Will Get Jeremiah Smith the Ball

The Buckeyes should be able to move the ball however they want to, but first, they have to get 4 on the same page as 10.

The ground game will take over for most of the game, but over the first quarter or so, Julian Sayin’s job is to start pushing the ball down the field, especially to his main weapon.

Jeremiah Smith had a few drops against Texas, but he caught a game-high six passes for 43 yards. That was fine, but he wasn’t able to do anything big.

The Buckeyes didn't take any big chances as long as the defense was keeping Arch Manning and the Longhorn O in check. This week, Sayin will get his chance to start throwing.

Ohio State Will End This Fast, But Will There Be a Letdown?

Yes, this will be a blowout, and yes, the Ohio State defense can be a brick wall if it goes full throttle for a full four quarters.

Grambling State will have a few good drives, but the production won’t be nearly enough to overcome a huge first quarter by the Buckeye offense that opens it up right away.
