Jack Sawyer turned in one of the biggest performances in recent Ohio State Buckeyes history against the Texas Longhorns on Friday night as he hit Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, forced a fumble, then scooped it and ran 83 yards for a touchdown to give Ohio State a 28-14 lead.
The Buckeyes never looked back, bringing home the College Football Playoffs semifinals victory and punching their ticket to the national championship game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Sawyer was called a "Buckeye legend for life" after the big performance vs. the Longhorns, but Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, a Michigan Wolverines alumnus and superfan, was not impressed as he called out Sawyer on X following the game.
"Anybody who says that is Jack Sawyers most memorable moment of the season is a liar and everybody in Ohio and Michigan know it bro," Portnoy wrote on his X account, including a video of Sawyer attempting to stop Michigan players from planting their block 'M' flag on the Ohio Stadium field after their win in November.
"No one cares about Michigan dude," one fan said in response.
"0-4 against Michigan," another fan said about Sawyer.
"The CFB Final is a win-win situation for Dave," another fan wrote. "If OSU loses, he can revel in their demise. If OSU wins, he can say that Michigan is better because they beat them in Columbus this season," another fan added.
"Hate to admit it, but Jack Sawyer is a Dan Campbell type of guy #Lions," another fan wrote. "100% heart, 100% team player."
