The Oklahoma Sooners have grabbed another important piece to their future. Their 2026 class is beginning to take shape early on, and their latest recruiting win will be a vital one to getting more players to show interest in joining the Sooners.

Daniel Odom commits to Oklahoma

Odom is a 2026 four-star wide receiver. He chose Oklahoma over Texas and Oregon.

The Sooners offered Odom earlier this week. He's considered an impressive talent for the class and is an important early addition on offense for Oklahoma.

Daniel Odom is a standout wide receiver from St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California. He is considered a 4-star prospect. At 6'1" and 179 pounds, he has the size, speed, and skills to excel in college football, even as a junior right now. -- Justin Churchill

Clearly, Oklahoma made a heavy impression on the young wideout. he commits just days after receiving his offer from the newly-added SEC program.

As for projecting his role and impact as a freshman, it is tough to know as of now. WE don't know what the quarterback position will look like for OU past 2025, when John Mateer is the expected starter.

Could Michael Hawkins play a role in 2026? Or another transferring veteran at QB? Only time will tell.

Regardless, it is a solid get for the Sooners early in the process for 2026 and beyond.
