After reorganizing their front office after hiring Jim Nagy as general manager, the Oklahoma Sooners got off to a slow start to their recruiting of the class of 2026. However, they've kicked it into gear in May, bringing in three commitments over the last ten days, all on the defensive side of the ball.
To start this ball rolling, they landed three-star safety Niko Jandreau out of Arizona. The Sooners beat out USC, Washington, and Missouri to land the defensive back.
However, Niko isn't the only Jandreau in this recruiting class. His brother, Beau, is a linebacker prospect with an impressive offer sheet of his own. His final three visits will be to the Oregon Ducks, Texas Longhorns, and, of course, the Sooners.
SoonerScoop placed a prediction in for Beau to join his brother Niko in Norman and pair up as part of Oklahoma's defense.
"When he talks to [coaches] about what he’s looking for he always starts with growing in his faith. Obviously that’s something Oklahoma is very forward about, something they are sincere about. Now, beyond that, he also talks about development and helping him maximize his abilities."
Oklahoma's staff has never shied away from their faith and beliefs, a trait that has endeared them to many players, and the whole staff is committed to their faith in everything they do.
On top of that, Brent Venables has long been an established developer of players, especially at linebacker. Danny Stutsman was just selected as the sixth linebacker off the board in the 2025 NFL Draft, and Kip Lewis will likely be drafted higher in next year's draft.
Niko and Beau wouldn't be the only brotherly duo in Norman. Quarterback Michael Hawkins and cornerback Maliek Hawkins, as well as defensive backs Peyton and Eli Bowen, have kept the Sooners in the family as brothers, sharing a bond on and off the field.
