Why Tulsa Will Win

Does this Oklahoma State team seem like it's going in the right direction?

The pressure is on the Cowboys to not only win this, but do it in destructive fashion from the first drive on.

This is about the future of head coach Mike Gundy, the program's direction, and all hopes and dreams about what's coming next when the Big 12 gets going.

The Cowboys didn't do much against UT Martin on the ground, the defense might as well not have been on the field against Oregon, and Tulsa has a balanced enough offense to make this a fight. However...

Why Oklahoma State Will Win

Tulsa keeps screwing up.

It had penalty problems in the win over Abilene Christian, the five turnovers combined against New Mexico State and Navy were a killer, and Oklahoma State could use all of it.

The Cowboys really do have talent among the starting 22, but they need the quarterback play to be solid, the running game has to start working, and everyone needs to remember that Tulsa isn't Oregon.

After two weeks to work, the passing game should be more accurate, sharper, and there will be a few takeaways to make things easier.

Oklahoma State Will Look Fine ... For Now

After all of the embarrassment from the trip to Eugene, the Cowboys will come out roaring. 

Tulsa will do just enough on third downs to keep the offense on the field to prevent the score from getting too out of hand early, but again, there will be too many mistakes to ever get into a groove.

The Golden Hurricane defense will have a rough time coming up with a key stop early on, and all the anger of the Oregon game will come out early.
