This is it. This is the end of the season for the loser, and the winner stays alive for an at-large College Football Playoff spot.

Realistically, 10-2 gets you in the discussion, but doesn’t guarantee anything. Go 9-3, and pack up for a nice bowl game with a sweet swag bag, but there’s no CFP for you.

Oklahoma needed to beat Ole Miss last week. It didn’t, it was mocked by Lane Kiffin, and now it gets this, at Alabama, Missouri, and LSU to close - a great year could turn ugly in a hurry.

Tennessee gacked late against Georgia, never had it against Alabama, and now it really, really needs this. This would be the best win of the year by far, and with New Mexico State, at Florida, and Vanderbilt to close, there’s a real shot to get to 10-2 with a win.

Why Oklahoma Will Win

The defense continues to be fantastic.

Forget all the trolling from Lane Kiffin - the Sooners were fantastic against the Rebel running game in the 34-26 loss. No, the pass rush didn't do anything big, but overall, it wasn't the defense's fault.

It was the offense's inability to keep things moving, and now it gets to go against a Tennessee defense that's not great at generating third down stops.

The Volunteers are great. Again, they should've beaten Georgia, and fine, it had a wrong day against Bama. But it hasn't faced anyone with a defense like OU's.

The Tide D is no big whoop, and the Georgia defense is still figuring it all out. The Sooners have the best pass defense in the SEC, and, for the most part, it stuffed the Rebels last week - it's only giving up 2.6 yards per carry.

Oh, by the way, Tennessee isn't great at running the ball. But ...

Why Tennessee Will Win

It stinks because John Mateer is such a terrific player, but he's just not himself since getting hurt.

The Sooner starting quarterback came back from a wrist injury to give it a run against Texas, but he struggled with his accuracy. He only hit 55% of his throws against Ole Miss last week and wasn't as dangerous on the run as he normally is.

The offense was saved last week by two big plays, with a big chunk of the 223 passing yards coming on one play early in the second quarter, and most of the rushing yards generated on a big run from Xavier Robinson late in the third.

This is the most dangerous passing game the Sooner defense has faced all season. Joey Aguilar has been terrific, and he should easily push past 200 yards and ...

Oklahoma vs Tennessee Prediction, Betting Lines

Tennessee has to get the crowd into this right away.

Oklahoma is still good. It went on the road and took out South Carolina without a problem. It was more physical than Michigan, and if the offense could've been better on third downs, it probably would have found a way to get it done last week against the Rebels.

But at home, a fully tuned-up Vols team will get a good day out of the offensive line, and two takeaways from the defense to finally get that one big committee-quality win it desperately needs.
