Jaxson Dart broke nearly every Ole Miss quarterback record during his three-year career with the Rebels. Head coach Lane Kiffin was able to form a relationship with Dart while recruiting him through the transfer portal in 2022, and Dart spoke on that relationship this week at the NFL combine.
"Coach Kiffin has had a huge impact on my career," said Dart. "You don't really know what to expect (for) your quarterback and head coach's relationship, but every year, it just got stronger, the bond that we made. ... but he was great, I really appreciate him and all the time that we had."
After spending his freshman year at the University of Southern California, Kiffin recruited Dart to Oxford from his former school. That decision proved to be paramount in his football career as he is now on the cusp of being a first-round draft pick.
While most publications still have the former Rebel slated to be a second-round selection, Dart has raised his stock in the last month with his performances at the Senior Bowl and the NFL combine. The draft is not for another two months, so plenty can still change, but by the time the season rolls around, Dart may be the most highly touted Ole Miss rookie quarterback since Eli Manning.
