'One More Year' For Utes Linebacker Levani Damuni
USA TODAY Sports

The Utes are retaining a veteran presence on defense for one more year to the delight of the program, players, and fans alike.

The Stanford transfer previously spent 4 years with the Cardinal before moving back home to Utah for the 2023 season. On the season, Damuni racked up 75 total tackles, 38 of them solo while the other 37 were assisted.

On November 28th, Damuni posted on X with the caption, "Locked in for one more year Go Utes."

His returning veteran presence will surely be a positive for the entire team as the program goes into uncharted territory for the 2024 campaign.

Damuni, who is considered by many to be the anchor of the defense had a big part in the Ute's ferocious defensive reputation. With a bunch of big names moving on while others are entering the portal, Damuni will have an even bigger role on and off the field which will only benefit Morgan Scalley and his prospective scheme to stop those Big 12 offenses and build upon this year's performances.
