One potential transfer destination for former Tennessee Vols quarterback Nico Iamaleava has reportedly been ruled out.

Iamaleava is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal later this week when the spring window officially opens. And when that happens, Texas Tech, which was viewed as a potential suitor for Iamaleava, won't be one of the programs in pursuit of the former Vol.

247Sports' Brandon Marcello reported on Monday afternoon that Texas Tech is happy with quarterback Behren Morton and won't be pursuing Iamaleava in the transfer portal.

247Sports' Brendan Sonnone made a crystal ball prediction on Monday for the North Carolina Tar Heels to land Iamaleava.

On3's Pete Nakos reported on Monday that North Carolina could be an option for Iamaleava, along with UCLA and Tulane.

Nakos also reported that USC and Notre Dame won't be pursuing Iamaleava.

North Carolina would probably be Iamaleava's best option as playing under Bill Belichick for a year or two would help rehabilitate the quarterback's reputation in NFL circles after what was a tough PR weekend.

UCLA would also make sense as it would put Iamaleava, a SoCal native, back on the west coast.
