Oregon Star Cornerback Sparks Transfer Speculation with Cryptic Message Before Playoff

The Oregon Ducks are riding high after a Big Ten Championship win over the Penn State Nittany Lions last weekend, followed by their No. 1 seeding in the College Football Playoff. While they get to enjoy the next couple of weeks off before their second-round playoff game against either Ohio State or Tennessee, this down time offers a great opportunity for players to rest and recuperate.

Of course, it also offers some players an opportunity to make tough decisions on their futures, particularly when it comes to the transfer portal.

Dan Lanning's Ducks have yet to see any starters enter the portal this offseason, but a cryptic message from one of their top defenders on Friday morning has sparked some speculation among fans.

Cornerback Jahlil Florence appears to be contemplating a business decision.

"Business is business," Florence wrote on social media.

It's been a long year for Florence, who has been rehabbing from an offseason knee injury all year, and is yet to play in a game for the Ducks. However, before his injury, Florence was a starting cornerback for Oregon, racking up 35 tackles, 3 TFLs, and 2 INTs in his who years in Eugene.

When healthy, Florence is projected to be one of the top defensive backs for the Ducks, having started many games as both a freshman and sophomore. However, he could be contemplating moving on from Eugene and finding a new team in the future, based on his social media activity.

As a former high-end 4-star recruit who was rated as the No. 83 player in the 2022 class, Florence would demand a lot of attention in the transfer portal, should he choose to enter. However, nothing is set in stone as of now, and all of this is just speculation. The Ducks will try to hold on to him this offseason if they can.
