In today’s Fact or Fiction — transfer portal edition — I look at three big recent topics from the transfer portal and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Keon Coleman makes FSU the favorite in the ACC.

Farrell’s take: FACT

This offense just got a whole lot tougher to deal with as Coleman’s size, along with Johnny Wilson, makes FSU a nightmare both in the red zone and at churning out first downs. And Coleman has deep speed as well. FSU has the most overall offensive talent coming back to the ACC, Jordan Travis could be on the cusp of a superstar year, and the defense should hold up its end of the bargain. Clemson isn’t going away easily, but FSU continues to look better and better on paper.

2. Logan Diggs solves the running game issues for LSU.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Diggs is a solid player and had nearly 1,000 yards rushing last season. He was recruited by Brian Kelly when he was at Notre Dame, and there is a large trust factor. But he’s a yard churner and not a huge play guy and will need to be a complimentary back rather than a guy who can bust out a 1,300-yard season. It helps landing him in the portal as the hope is to take the rushing onus off Jayden Daniels, but I’d still say LSU’s rushing attack is near the bottom of the SEC West.

3. Zakhari Franklin will land at Colorado.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Why not? It makes sense for the dynamic UTSA WR, as many dominoes have fallen at wide receiver in the portal. Deion Sanders has immediate playing time and perhaps a star role for him, and FSU’s WR group is deep now with Keon Coleman, LSU has kind of backed off, and there aren’t a ton of great options. Franklin could go to many places, don’t get me wrong, but if he wants to go someplace where he can be a priority option, then Colorado fits.
