The past 24 hours have truly been cathartic for Ohio State head coach Ryan Day. In the hours since he led the Buckeyes to a 41-21 blowout win over Oregon (that wasn't even as close as the final score suggests), he's regained all of the goodwill he had previously lost in the defeat against Michigan and then some.
We've already seen videos of Day asking his beloved family if they were "having fun" after the Rose Bowl win. But his other family - the players - had an equally fun reaction after the game that really put into perspective how he's seen in the locker room.
As the Buckeyes were celebrating on the field, some of the players went over to Day to congratulate him on one of the biggest wins of his career.
One player really drove the message home by yelling "That's my head coach! Don't disrespect him no more! That's my head coach. Stop talking down to that man!"
If the players have this much love for Coach Day then maybe we as a fan base need to stop shitting on him. (Me included)

Fans in the comments of the video were happy to heap the praise on Day and rip the coach's critics too:
"(Bullseye) players love him. Casuals wanted him fired and bad mouthed him (you included)," one user declared.
"I’ve always been on coach @ryandaytime side ! I’ve said it a 100x if he was to get fired who tf we gonna hire ? He’s the top coach in CFB , last year was a close 2nd behind Saban," wrote another.
"Exactly. The way this team came back from the Michigan game, is all you need to know about Day and the culture at Ohio State," a third wrote.
Ryan Day has been a polarizing figure among Buckeyes fans for a long time due to his inability to win a national title or beat Michigan for the bulk of his tenure.
Through his first five years he had only one win in the College Football Playoff, which only came during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.
Now it looks as though he finally has a team that is not just capable, but expected to win it all.
Is this the year for Day and the Buckeyes?
