There was some speculation about Ewers possibly returning for another year as he has eligibility remaining, but if today's ceremony is any indication, he'll be moving onto the NFL next season. Ewers is a popular first-round draft selection in the latest NFL Mock Drafts.
Heading into Saturday's game, Ewers has thrown for 1,898 yards and 21 touchdowns with just six interceptions this year. It's been an up-and-down season for him, but he's thrown for seven touchdowns with no interceptions over his last two games.
Ewers is critical to the Longhorns' ability to reach their goals of winning the SEC Championship and competing for a national title this fall, and he hopes to continue his strong play in his likely final season with the program.
