Rapper Plies fires at rival fans for poking Alabama football, says the 'Bama brand is still strong.'
Gary Cosby Jr.-Tuscaloosa News / USA TODAY NETWORK

If there is an intense football conversation that involves Alabama, Rapper Plies may be around the corner.

The South Florida native was a marquee wide receiver at Miami University and Central Florida before becoming a recording rap artist.

He has four studio albums — The Real Testament, Definition of Real, Da REAList, and Goon Affiliated — and several mixtapes in his music career. Plies enjoys getting into conversations about athletics on social media, especially on elite teams.

Rival fans of the Crimson Tide are excited right now.

Nick Saban is no longer the head coach because of retirement, and the program is losing players to the NCAA transfer portal.

Kalen DeBoer, 49, was hired by Greg Byrne to be Saban’s successor, and he’s doing the best he can to assemble a staff and keep players together.

Outsiders feel that Alabama’s reign as the best in college football is over without Saban as a head coach, but Plies does not feel that way. He fired off on social media at rival fans for poking at the Tide, believing that Alabama is still the standard.

Spring football for Alabama under DeBoer will be interesting. We will see which players rise to the top and who shall be the marquee guys that can lead the group to success next fall.
