Reggie Bush says 'go ahead and give Kenneth Walker the Heisman'

Michigan State running back Kenneth Walker III was an unstoppable force in the biggest game of the year for the Spartans, running for five touchdowns and 193 rushing yards against the Michigan Wolverines. It was a performance that some believe was enough to earn Walker the highest honor in college football.

"Go ahead and give Kenneth Walker the Heisman," Reggie Bush said after the game on Fox. "He's leading the Heisman race, at least in my book right now."

Bush won the Heisman Trophy in 2005, but later forfeited the award after an investigation found he received improper benefits while at USC. He also won the Doak Walker and Walter Camp awards and was a two-time consensus All-American.

Walker began his collegiate career at Wake Forest, for whom he rushed for 17 touchdowns in two seasons. He transferred to Michigan State after the 2020 season and quickly earned a starting role with the Spartans. Through eight games, Walker has rushed for 1,190 yards with 14 touchdowns and also has one receiving touchdown.

The meeting between Michigan and Michigan State marked the first time since 1964 that both teams played while ranked in the top 10. The No. 8 Spartans improved to 8-0 overall, while the No. 6 Wolverines dropped to 7-1 following Michigan State's 37-33 victory.
