Report: Draft prospect tears ACL, does insane bench press workout next day

NFL Draft prospect Andrew Vorhees reportedly suffered a torn ACL Sunday at the NFL Combine.

The former USC offensive lineman then came back to the event on Monday and pushed through nearly 40 repetitions of 225-pound bench presses.

Vorhees was named a First Team All-American during the 2022 season and earned the Morris Trophy, which is awarded to Pac-12's best offensive lineman. The 24-year-old also earned First Team All-Pac-12 for the second straight year, as he played in 11 games with the Trojans as a super senior.

Per Pro Football Talk, Vorhees ended his college career with 37 starts, including 25 at right guard.

While the near future looks bleak for the Kingsburg, California native, hopefully his draft prospects aren't hit too hard and he can return to the field by the end of 2023 or early 2024. The fact that he came back on Monday and took part in the bench press (and put up the insane numbers) should help his cause if teams have any questions about his dedication to football and physical toughness.
