Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence is expected to be the first player taken in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, that's not stopping more than one team from attending his throwing session on Friday.
According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers will join the Jacksonville Jaguars in watching Lawrence throw.
One of those teams said they are attending "just in case" the Jaguars make an unexpected move, Breer adds.
Lawrence will undergo surgery on his left shoulder soon, and Friday's throwing session will be his only pre-draft performance. However, that's not expected to impact his chances of being selected first overall.
The 21-year-old had three solid seasons at Clemson, throwing for over 10,000 yards and 90 touchdowns, proving that he's capable of playing at the next level.
