A former University of Alabama standout is back playing professional football.
Reuben Foster had not been on a pro team since 2020 with the Washington Redskins/Football Team, but now he plays for the Pittsburgh Maulers of the United States Football League. Foster led the Maulers’ defense in Sunday’s matchup against the New Orleans Breakers and made an impactful play. As a former Unanimous All-American and Butkus Award winner, Foster forced a fumble for the Maulers and it was recovered for a touchdown. He channeled the playmaking skills from the Tide to the USFL.

Foster got his left hand on the ball and ripped it out of the running back’s hand. Pittsburgh suffered a 15-22 loss, but it was a moment when Foster showed he was back in action. He assisted the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2015 and anchored the best defense in the Nick Saban era in 2016. It is good to see Foster playing again.
