Ryan Day boldly tells recruits 'I don't know if you like football' after seeing the Ohio State home crowd against Texas

Ryan Day wants to take full advantage of the Ohio State Buckeyes beating the Texas Longhorns in Week 1, so it's not a surprise that he's still talking about the 14-7 win days after it. The Buckeyes put a lot on the line with the matchup, risking its No. 3 overall ranking on their home field, and they doubled down by inviting a huge list of recruits to visit. Day's strategy could've backfired if the Buckeyes lost.

Instead, Day and his churned-over coaching staff and roster prevailed. For the second time since January 10, Ohio State beat Texas with physicality, execution level, and creativity. And Day made sure to shout out the Buckeyes' home crowd for making an impact in front of his swarm of blue-chip prospects.

Eleven Warriors went so far as to say it was the "most impressive collection of recruits" to be at one game in years, and it's hard to imagine that's an incorrect statement. Here's what Day said about what the takeaway those prospects should have after being in person for such a display from the home crowd.

Ryan Day praises Ohio State home crowd for recruiting impact

"It was rocking. It was loud. If you don't want to come to Ohio State after watching that game, I don't know if you like football," Day said.

With an announced total of 107,524 fans in the Horseshoe to witness the 14-7 win, the Buckeyes' fans had to be at their peak performance. Texas had the ball with 2:26 left in regulation, down by one score, and Ohio State holding onto its one-score lead. It was the perfect scene for Arch Manning to lead a game-tying drive, or even go for two and upset the Buckeyes despite trailing all game.

Instead, the Buckeyes rallied, driving the crowd into a frenzy. Here's a list of all recruits who were in the building for the huge win.
