The UA System trustee’s compensation committee officially announced the details of Kalen DeBoer’s contract as the new head coach of Alabama football.

DeBoer’s deal will last for eight years totaling $87 million and will be making $10 million in his first season on the job. Each of the following years, DeBoer will receive a $250,000 bump every season with his salary reaching $11.75 million in the final year of his contract.

Other incentives include a $75,000 bonus for and SEC championship appearance with another $125,000 bonus for a win. DeBoer would also receive a $125,000 bonus for an appearance in the College Football Playoff which increases each round. Should Alabama win the national championship, DeBoer would receive a $875,000 bonus.

This new contract is a massive increase from his previous salary at Washington which was $4.2 million annually last season. It was also reported that DeBoer had turned down multiple contract offers from the Huskies who were looking to keep DeBoer out west before he agreed to leave for Alabama.
