The Oregon Ducks passed their first test of the season with a blowout win over Montana State, but Week 2 brings a far more formidable challenge. The No. 7 Ducks will welcome the Oklahoma State Cowboys to Autzen Stadium in what promises to be a physical, high-stakes matchup. While Oregon enters as the favorite, Mike Gundy’s team has no shortage of playmakers capable of flipping the game. From dynamic offensive weapons to disruptive defenders, the Cowboys feature several players the Ducks must account for if they want to stay unbeaten. Here are four Oklahoma State standouts Oregon needs to keep a close eye on this Saturday.
Kalib Hicks RB
The Cowboys' leading bellcow for the 2025 season, Ducks fans should expect to see a heavy dose of Hicks as Oklahoma State looks to rely heavily on their running game following the loss of starting quarterback Hauss Hejny, who suffered an injury. Hicks is a big back who showcases good vision, power, and balance. He excels running between the tackles and is a physical, downhill runner who always seeks contact. Look for Hicks to be the tone setter for the Oklahoma State offense.
Gavin Freeman WR
Freeman is an undersized slot receiver who excels at creating separation from inside. He has cat-like quickness and can explode out of cuts with ease. Freeman was a transfer from the University of Oklahoma back in 2024 and was an All-American pun returner during his time with the Sooners, highlighting his ability to make defenders miss with the ball in his hands. While his deep speed won’t concern the Ducks, his ability to get open underneath and gain yards after the catch will be something the Ducks' defense will have to key on.

Bryan McCoy Jr. LB
McCoy is a senior transfer from Akron, where he was the leading tackler for two straight years, earning All-MAC honors both years. He is extremely productive and has a nose for the football. He plays with excellent instincts and aggressiveness and is an outsanding tackler. He had a tremendous game in week one, pacing the Cowboys' defense with 14 total tackles.
Brandon Rawls LB
Rawls is a redshirt senior transfer from SVU who has one year to play with the Cowboys. He is an active and athletic second-level defender who flashes the versatility to be an effective player against both the run and the pass. He finished second on the team in tackles against Tennessee-Martin with 11 and recorded one sack.
