Tier 1: The Undefeated & The Championship Frontrunners

Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver KC Concepcion (7) returns a punt for a touchdown during the second half against the Louisiana State Tigers at Tiger Stadium.
  1. Texas A&M Aggies (8-0, 5-0 Conference) The Aggies had a crucial bye week to rest and prepare for their toughest remaining stretch. They remain the only team with a perfect overall record and a flawless conference record, giving them the best position for the SEC Championship game. Next Week: at #19 Missouri (Saturday, 12:30 PM ET)
  2. Alabama Crimson Tide (7-1, 5-0 Conference) Alabama was also on a bye week, benefiting greatly from the chaos around them. With five conference wins, Kalen DeBoer’s squad is rolling and has earned its spot as a co-leader in the conference standings. Next Week: vs. #11 Oklahoma (Saturday, 3:30 PM ET)
  3. Georgia Bulldogs (7-1, 5-1 Conference) The Bulldogs survived their toughest rivalry game, edging Florida 24-20. Four of their five conference wins have been tight, but they keep finding ways to win. They remain right in the mix for a top-two spot. Next Week: vs. #13 Texas (Saturday, 7:30 PM ET)
  4. Ole Miss Rebels (8-1, 5-1 Conference) The Rebels were clinical against South Carolina, winning 30-14. With their only loss coming to Georgia, Lane Kiffin’s team still has an excellent shot at the SEC Championship, provided they can handle the rest of their schedule. Next Week: vs. Florida (Saturday, 7:00 PM ET)

Tier 2: The Two-Loss Contenders

  1. Texas Longhorns (7-2, 4-1 Conference) The Longhorns barely survived a massive upset bid from Vanderbilt, winning 34-31. The late-game heroics of Arch Manning kept them alive. The victory is huge, but they face a brutal road test this week that could define their season. Next Week: at #5 Georgia (Saturday, 7:30 PM ET)
  2. Oklahoma Sooners (7-2, 3-2 Conference) The Sooners picked up a massive road win, beating Tennessee 33-27. The victory rights the ship after the Red River loss and puts them back in the top half of the SEC. Next Week: at #4 Alabama (Saturday, 3:30 PM ET)
  3. Vanderbilt Commodores (7-2, 3-2 Conference) The Commodores lost a tight one to Texas, 34-31, snapping their six-game winning streak. Despite the loss, they remain one of the best stories in the country and are bowl-eligible for the second consecutive year. Next Week: BYE

  1. Missouri Tigers (6-3, 2-3 Conference) The Tigers dropped a heartbreaking rivalry game to Vanderbilt, 17-10. The back-to-back losses have completely changed the outlook for this team, who desperately needs a win this week. Next Week: vs. Mississippi State (Saturday, 7:45 PM ET)
  2. Tennessee Volunteers (6-3, 3-3 Conference) The Vols’ Playoff hopes are over after the 33-27 home loss to Oklahoma. Josh Heupel’s team has shown flashes of offense but struggles with consistency and defense against quality opponents. Next Week: vs. New Mexico State (Non-Conference, Saturday, 4:15 PM ET)
  3. LSU Tigers (5-3, 2-3 Conference) LSU was on a bye week, resting after their tough loss to Vanderbilt. They need to win out to achieve a respectable bowl bid and finish the season strong. Next Week: vs. Arkansas (Saturday, 12:45 PM ET)
  4. Mississippi State Bulldogs (5-4, 1-4 Conference) The Bulldogs finally got their first SEC win, taking down Arkansas 38-35. This victory is huge for the program and gets them over the hump to achieve bowl eligibility. Next Week: at #19 Missouri (Saturday, 7:45 PM ET)
  5. Auburn Tigers (4-5, 1-5 Conference) Auburn got a much-needed rivalry win over Arkansas, 33-24. They need two more wins to reach bowl eligibility, which is still possible given their schedule. Next Week: BYE

Tier 4: Focus on the Rebuild

  1. Florida Gators (3-6, 1-5 Conference) The Gators fought hard but lost to Georgia 24-20. The effort was there, but the loss moves them to 3-6 overall. Their focus is now purely on the future. Next Week: at #7 Ole Miss (Saturday, 7:00 PM ET)
  2. Kentucky Wildcats (3-6, 1-5 Conference) Kentucky finally got their first SEC win of the year against Auburn, 10-3. They are still struggling, but the win gives them a tiny bit of momentum. Next Week: vs. Tennessee Tech (Non-Conference, Saturday, 1:30 PM ET)
  3. South Carolina Gamecocks (3-7, 1-6 Conference) South Carolina lost to Ole Miss 30-14, dropping their conference record to 1-6. The season is a total loss, and they are playing for pride. Next Week: at #3 Texas A&M (Saturday, 12:00 PM ET)
  4. Arkansas Razorbacks (2-8, 0-6 Conference) The Razorbacks lost a close one to Mississippi State 38-35. They are winless in the league and mathematically eliminated from bowl eligibility. Next Week: at #20 LSU (Saturday, 12:45 PM ET)
