There have already been over 1,000 players across the country to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal since it officially opened on December 4. Once again, there projects to be unprecedented movement across the sport as athletes explore new options elsewhere for a variety of reasons.

On Tuesday afternoon, another member of Florida State's roster announced their intentions to transfer from the program. Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Qae'shon Sapp will be moving on after two seasons in Tallahassee. He's the second member of the 2022 class and offensive line to enter the portal on the same day, following fellow redshirt freshman Daughtry Richardson.

"First I want to thank God. This has been a long decision that I've thought about and finally I have decided. I want to say thank you for the 2 years here at FSU, but I have to do what is best for me and my career to help provide for my family and myself. I want to thank the whole university itself as well as the academic staff for helping me succeed in class and helping me become a better student."

"I want to personally thank the two men that led me here, which are coach Norvell and coach Atkins. With that being said, with the last three of my career I will be entering my name into the transfer portal. Thank you Florida State."

Sapp made one appearance during the 2023 season, playing three snaps in the home-opening victory over Southern Miss. He redshirted in 2022, making his debut in the 49-17 win against Louisiana. Sapp spent most of his time with the Seminoles contributing on the scout team while working at center and guard.

After signing six offensive linemen in #Tribe22, only three - Julian Armella, Jaylen Early, and Kanaya Charlton- remain with the program due to Sapp and Richardson transferring. Former Seminole Antavious Woody previously left the program and landed at UAB.

As of now, Florida State has 12 scholarship offensive linemen who could return next season; redshirt junior Darius Washington, redshirt junior Maurice Smith, redshirt junior Robert Scott, redshirt junior Jeremiah Byers, redshirt junior Keiondre Jones, redshirt junior Thomas Schrader, redshirt sophomore Bryson Estes, redshirt freshman Julian Armella, redshirt freshman Jaylen Early, redshirt freshman Kanaya Charlton, true freshman Lucas Simmons, and true freshman Andre' Otto. Plus, redshirt Bless Harris should be able to get a medical waiver if he wants to do so.

The Seminoles will also be adding four-star Manasse Itete, three-star Jonathan Daniels, three-star Tye Hylton, and three-star Jayden Todd in their 2024 recruiting class.

Sapp originally signed with Florida State as a four-star prospect after signing with the program over Georgia, Florida, and Cincinnati. He's the seventh Seminole to depart from the team since the conclusion of the regular season and conference championship, joining quarterback AJ Duffy, running back CJ Campbell, tight end Markeston Douglas, tight end Preston Daniel, linebacker Dylan Brown-Turner, and Richardson in the portal.
