Shane Beamer Shares Strong Message About South Carolina's Future

South Carolina football head coach Shane Beamer has been working hard securing the team's future. And he just shared an emotional update to his followers about his progress.

The Gamecocks just wrapped their final official visit weekend of the summer, and prospects continue to look good.

"Been a great month of recruiting visits in Columbia!!" Beamer wrote on X. "It's heating up in South Carolina....Here We Go....."

South Carolina already had eight commitments from the 2026 class before their final official visit weekend, with five being four-star prospects, according to 247 Sports.

One of the top prospects visiting this past weekend was four-star defensive back Samari Matthews, a native of North Carolina. After finishing the weekend, Matthews shared on social media that he will make his decision on July 11, On3 reported. He had originally estimated an August 10 decision date, but he moved up his timeline after visiting South Carolina. Matthews has four finalists: South Carolina, Texas, Miami and Florida State.

Another top prospect for the final visit weekend was Darius Gray, a five-star offensive lineman, 247 Sports reported. And Sequel Patterson, who was reclassified recently into the class of 2026, was a top prospect late addition for the weekend, MSN reported.

Georgia native and quarterback Jayce Johnson has also said that South Carolina is in his top five, and he's set an August 3 date for making his commitment, On3 reported. He last visited in the spring.

Some of South Carolina's other top prospects include Kamari Blair (visited June 6), J.B. Shabazz (visited May 30), Carter Meadows (visited May 30), Noah Clark (visited June 6 and announcing his commitment choice on July 2), Khary Adams (visited May 30 and announcing his choice on June 28), Jowell Combay (announcing his choice on July 9), and more.
