Shane Gillis gives Sherrone Moore and Michigan Wolverines an unexpected reminder about pending NCAA sanctions during ESPYs

The ESPY Awards brought a good number of expected segments, including honoring recent champions and cracking a few jokes. With comedian Shane Gillis hosting, there were a number of excellent moments that crossed a line that we don't often see in situations like this. Gillis was fantastic, and he reached further into his bag than anyone could've guessed.

The Notre Dame fan not only fanned some shade at the Ohio State Buckeyes, but he made sure to give Michigan a certain reminder of their own drama. Gillis started with the Buckeyes, noting they "won the national championship, but also lost to Michigan.”

But then, the Wolverines became Gillis' fodder for content.

“Michigan, who didn't cheat this time. Beat them fair and square,” Gillis said. “Are we ever going to hold (Michigan) accountable? Yeah, whatever, they're allowed to cheat, no repercussions.”

The NCAA Committee on Infractions has not ruled on Michigan's hearing that took place on June 6 and 7. However, the results will be made public no later than September 9, so it's only a matter of time.

For now, it's all fun and laughs in the moment, but everyone in college football and at Michigan is interested in the fallout from the sign-stealing scandal.
