Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes suffered a 36-14 loss in the Alamo Bowl, dropping to 9-4 on the season.

The Buffaloes were dominated in their final game of the season, despite Sanders playing in the final college football game of his career, seemingly declaring for the 2025 NFL draft.

Following the game, reporters questioned Sanders' decision to play in the Alamo Bowl. According to major sites like CBS Sports, Sanders is listed as a top-three prospect in the upcoming draft.

Sanders made it clear that he wanted to finish the season with his teammates, even if his collegiate career may soon come to an end.

"We started so we had to finish," Sanders said. "That’s simply it."

Sanders struggled in what could be his final collegiate game, finishing the game with two touchdowns, two interceptions and 208 yards, completing 16-of-23 passes.

He finished the 2024 college football season with 37 touchdowns and 4,134 yards with a 74.0 completion percentage.

The Buffaloes capped off the 2024 college football season with a 7-2 record in Big 12 play, excluding the Alamo Bowl loss to the BYU Cougars.

They're the No. 4 team in the Big 12 standings, trailing Iowa State, Arizona State and BYU.

Sanders had the Buffaloes in position to compete for a Big 12 title and potentially a spot in the College Football Playoff until the final week of the regular season, but the dominoes didn't fall in favor of Colorado.
