The No. 25 Colorado Buffaloes capped off a season of rejuvenation on Friday, defeating the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Senior Day in Boulder, Colorado, to earn their ninth win of the season and likely finish the year ranked in the Top 25.

While their loss to Kansas in Week 13 dashed many of their College Football Playoff hopes, the Buffaloes are still in contention for the Big 12 Championship Game—though that path is unlikely. Regardless, Colorado is now bowl eligible for the first time since 2020, and the team has its sights set on ending the program's 20-year bowl win drought, with their last victory coming in 2004.

As the team prepares for a bowl game, it will be crucial for head coach Deion Sanders to have his stars, including his son Shedeur Sanders and cornerback Travis Hunter, fully committed to playing.

Sanders has made it clear that he expects all of his top players to suit up and finish what they've started. Both Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are on the same page, with the focus squarely on finishing the season strong for their teammates and the program.

"It's a team thing. We gotta lead by example. that's what boils down to it...We understand the piece we are to the team... we can't want them to go out there and play hard and we're sitting back. " Shedeur Sanders said.

This is a testament to the culture that Deion Sanders has built in Boulder. In today's college football landscape, it's not uncommon for high-profile athletes to make a "business decision" and skip bowl games, especially those who are projected as high NFL Draft picks like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.

However, as Deion Sanders emphasized postgame, his players "signed up for this." Sanders is not only focused on finishing the season strong but also on laying the foundation for future seasons, especially as key players like Hunter and Shedeur move on.

For the current team, it seems clear that regardless of where Colorado ends up after Saturday's games in the Big 12, the stars of the Buffaloes roster will play in the bowl game, determined to finish what they've started and leave a lasting legacy for the Colorado program.
