It's not often that you see college football players telegraph where they want to or expect to go in the NFL Draft, but Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has never been the usual college football player.

Ahead of today's Alamo Bowl between Colorado and Big 12 rival BYU, Sanders revealed the pair of cleats that he'll be wearing for the game. The NOMAD CUSTOMS cleats are red and blue with a hint of white and a logo that most NFL fans probably recognize: The New York Giants.

The Giants currently hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft due to their 2-13 record. While it's still to early to say if they'll finish with the worst record in the league, it's widely believed that they'll have first dibs on whichever quarterback they'd like come April.

College football fans weren't at all amused by Sanders' efforts to convince the Giants that he wants to play for them. Many have taken to social media to call him "corny," "desperate" and a slew of other things with this stunt:

"this is so bizarre and corny," one user wrote on X.

"A buff wearing Red??? How embarrassing," wrote another.

"Yall don’t know where he is going !!! Just because the Giants got the first pick for right not. You don’t know what will happen!" a third declared.

For a long time it's been believed that Sanders wanted to play for the Las Vegas Raiders, but the Raiders' recent win over the Jacksonville Jaguars dropped them out of the top-five picks in next year's draft and they'll be hard-pressed to climb above the Giants over these next two weekends.

But in recent days, Sanders indicated that he already knows where he'll be playing and said on a podcast that he'd be showing it with his cleats in the Alamo Bowl game:

“We know where we goin baby, You’ll see them in the cleats later on this week," he said in an appearance on the Nightcap podcast.

Time will tell if these cleats prove to be either prophetic or deserving of an appearance on "Freezing Cold Takes."
