Shedeur Sanders Reveals Why He Never Made An Official NFL Draft Announcement

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in college football this season.

The Jackson State transfer and son of Deion Sanders broke multiple program records, was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and also brought home the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. Sanders also established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft class, with most mock drafts projecting him as a top-five pick.

However, despite the fact that Sanders is known for being a bit flashy with his big chains and shiny watches, his NFL Draft declaration was nonexistent. While most players feel the need to write aggressively long posts on social media or produce theatrical videos to declare, Sanders did none of that.

The way fans officially found out he was NFL-bound was when the East-West Shrine Bowl announced that he had accepted an invitation to partake in its festivities. Sanders addressed why he never formally made an announcement on his podcast "2 Legendary With Shedeur Sanders," expressing that he felt it was obvious.

"I mean I think it's obvious," Sanders said. "So I don't be understanding what's the point of posting. It's like come on bro. Y'all know what time it is. Y'all know who the best quarterback in the nation is. So it's just like come on bruh, like y'all doing all this 'I gotta declare.' I'm not finna declare. Y'all know what I'm about to do."

Sanders will be one of six players from Colorado who are partaking in the event, with  a trio of his receivers Jimmy Horn Jr., LaJohntay Wester and Will Sheppard all set to be there as well. Defensively, Colorado will be represented by safeties Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig and Sanders' older brother, Shilo Sanders.

The event is scheduled to take place Thursday, Jan. 30 in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium.
