The Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes' rivalry has reached Olympian heights in recent years with the Wolverines wresting back control of the series after years of torment at the hands of their rivals from Columbus, Ohio.
With four straight wins under their belt in the series, Michigan coach Sherrone Moore went fishing for running back recently, identifying a player who appeared to be the right fit for his system from Columbus, Ohio.
Overnight, Michigan fans received word that the school had secured the commitment of a running back with rising star potential who hails from the same team as Ohio State coach Day's son RJ.
"Columbus (Ohio) running back prospect Jonathan Brown impressed Michigan's staff during a camp earlier this month," reporter Alejandro Zuniga wrote.
"The Wolverines offered the rising recruit, and @JVBrow3 was quick to announce his pledge to the Maize and Blue."

Brown plays for St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus, where RJ Day is a Class of 2027 quarterback. His commitment is not expected to affect Michigan's pursuit of five-star running back Savion Hiter from Mineral, Virginia.
Brown is unranked by On3 but put up an impressive 40-yard-dash time for his size (6'1, 200 pounds) and age as he has a 4.55-second time on record, according to On3.com.
The Columbus based running back is the 12th pledge in Michigan's Class of 2026, which is starting to round into form as Moore and his coaching staff continue to prepare for one of the most important Wolverines football seasons in recent memory.
Brown had offers from Air Force, Army, Navy, Kent State, Rutgers and other universities before deciding on Michigan.
