Prime Time is returning to Florida. No, Deion Sanders won't be returning to his home state. The next generation is carried on through Shilo Sanders.

The son of Coach Prime and older brother of Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders has officially signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After going undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, Shilo agreed to a three-year deal worth $2.96 million, according to sportrac.

A standard contract for rookie UDFAs without a signing bonus. He’ll wear No. 28 for the Bucs, departing from the iconic No. 21 he wore at Colorado.

Shilo arrives in Tampa with plenty of college experience and NFL bloodlines. Over five seasons at three schools, including South Carolina, Jackson State, and Colorado.

Sanders played in 54 games (36 starts) with 229 tackles, six interceptions, and forced an impressive nine fumbles. While at Colorado, he forced four fumbles, picked off one pass, and returned both an interception and a fumble for touchdowns, showcasing his ability to create big plays on defense.

Sanders joins a Buccaneers rookie class that includes 15 undrafted free agents. He’ll compete for a spot in Tampa Bay’s secondary during OTAs, training camp, and preseason.

His journey to the NFL has been anything but smooth. Sanders continues to deal with a civil judgment stemming from a 2015 incident with a security guard. That case, in which a $11.8 million judgment was issued, led Sanders to file for bankruptcy. He has also dealt with few injuries, including major shoulder surgery.

Shilo has a chance to forge his own NFL path. Returning to Florida, where his father first rose to stardom at North Fort Myers High School and Florida State, Shilo now hopes to earn a roster spot and make an impact in the league in Prime Time style.
