Shilo Sanders Had Priceless Reaction To Shedeur Falling In NFL Draft

The first round of the NFL Draft took place on Thursday night, and Shedeur Sanders' name was not called. The Colorado quarterback was the most polarizing prospect in college football heading into this year's draft, and it appears that teams are willing to wait until Day 2 to select him.

Sanders was extremely accurate in college, but he was criticized for taking too long to make his reads and for taking sacks by holding on to the ball. Two other quarterbacks - Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart - were drafted in the first round this year.

Sanders spent Thursday night in Texas with friends and family instead of attending the draft in person, and his brother attempted to lighten the mood by making a joke at his own expense.

"See bruh, I don't even know what they gonna do with me," Shilo Sanders said while waiting for his brother to be drafted.

"If they doing him and making him wait, oh buddy, me?," Shilo said with a laugh.

The brothers were able to share a laugh, but Shedeur was also able to maintain a positive outlook after the first round ended.

"We all didn't expect this, of course, but I feel like with God, anything's possible, everything's possible. I don't feel like this happened for no reason. All of this is, of course, fuel to the fire," the quarterback said late Thursday night.

"Under no circumstances did we all know this was going to happen, but we understand we're on to bigger and better things. Tomorrow's the day. We're going to be happy regardless. Legendary."

Sanders noted before the draft on social media that he was "built for whatever today may bring." Thursday ended with him still on the draft board, but he may not have to wait long to be selected on Friday.

The Cleveland Browns, New York Giants and New York Jets all have picks in the top ten of the second round, and other teams can always look to trade up if they feel that another team is eyeing a quarterback.

We'll see where Sanders ends up as the 2025 NFL Draft continues from Green Bay through Saturday afternoon.
