The USC Trojans are grappling with attempting to win over a talented tight end. One who has a father who once competed in the octagon.
Keawe Browne of Centennial High in Corona, Ca., is still on the recruiting radar for USC. The TE prospect is the son of former UFC fighter Travis Browne.
The elder Browne made his mark in the heavyweight division. He claimed 18 wins including 14 by knockout and two through submission. He last fought in 2017. He's married to legendary female UFC fighter and former WWE star Ronda Rousey.
Is USC very much in contention for the son of the past UFC star? A source close to the 2026 prospect told Blair Angulo of 247Sports where things stand between the Trojans and local talent.
"It's looking like Auburn, USC, Florida State, Miami and Washington," the source told Angulo.
Meanwhile, Texas is one school ruled out of Browne's mix. The Longhorns hold no TE commits for the 2026 class as of July 27.
USC already locked in one highly touted TE prospect. Five-star Mark Bowman chose the Trojans over the summer and adds new Mater Dei High representation there. However, Angulo said USC and head coach Lincoln Riley are aiming to add a second TE -- hence why Browne remains a priority.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder is a former edge rusher who turned over to the offensive side of the ball. He brings a field stretching element as a long strider on routes. He's also lauded for his body control on tough catches.
