Jordan Shaw isn't much of a talker. He instead prefers to let his play on the football field do the talking for him.
Now, after only one season at Washington under coach Jedd Fisch, the talented 6-foot-1 cornerback is going to be a listener hearing what other schools have to offer now that he's back in the transfer portal.
Shaw, a one-time redshirt freshman at Indiana in 2023 before entering the portal for the first time and soon after committing to Fisch while he was still at Arizona in mid-December, made 9 starts this season for the Huskies and appeared in all 13 games, primarily at nickel.
"Thank You Husky Nation for everything. I’ve been so thankful to be apart of this amazing program. I will forever be grateful for the life long relationships built at the University and the entire Husky Family. With that being said I will be entering my name in the transfer portal," Shaw wrote in a post on social media announcing his decision Wednesday night.
Shortly after the Los Angeles native made his decision public another now-former UW player, North Carolina linebacker Khmori House, made his own initial recruiting pitch writing "Pull up brotha!", indicating the talented DB could rejoin defensive coordinator Steve Belichick in Chapel Hill.

Shaw proved to be one of the more sure-tacklers for Belichick this past season at UW, recording 37 tackles (21 solo) and registering a 75.6 tackle grade by Pro Football Focus, good for sixth-best on the team.
The Huskies also saw junior Dyson McCutcheon log 173 snaps in the slot behind Shaw, and since the Sun Bowl ended Tuesday afternoon he hasn't indicated he won't return for another season in 2025, which could also have factored into Shaw's decision.
Combined with UW having several young players at cornerback, namely redshirt freshmen Leroy Bryant and Caleb Presley — who are both in the same class academically as Shaw — along with incoming 2025 signees D'Aryhian Clemons, Jonathan Epperson Jr. and potentially Rylon Dillard-Allen, the number crunch that will keep the program at 85 scholarships for the 2025 season may correlate with Shaw's decision to explore other options.
