All eyes and ears were on Bill Belichick on Monday as the North Carolina Tar Heels opened their 2025 season. The place was packed, Chapel Hill was excited for their football program with their new head football coach.

The start of the game was electric. Caleb Hood rushed from 8 yards out to give the Tar Heels the lead less than 5:00 into the game. The offense looked fantastic, with quarterback Gio Lopez completing both his passes, and the offense looked unstoppable.

That's when things fell apart. The Horned Frogs tied the game before the end of the first quarter, and went on to score 41 straight points to take a 41-7 lead near the end of three. TCU went on to embarrass Belichick and the Tar Heels 48-14.

Following the game, the TCU social media team had some fun with the Tar Heels and their former NFL legend as head coach.

But, they were not done.

The first one discussed a Deadspin article where they were promoting him for the big game early Monday morning: "Babe, wake up, Bill Belichick coaches college football today."

The second was an attack on the UNC official account, with the filming of the Hulu series, with the Horned Frogs asking, "When does episode one come out?"

The game finished with Max Johnson under center for the Tar Heels, as Lopez left the game with an injury. Johnson, also coming off a gruesome leg injury of a season ago, completed 9 of 11 passes for 103 yards and a touchdown.

TCU's Josh Hoover looked strong with 284 passing yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, the Horned Frogs saw Kevorian Barnes dominate with 11 carries and 113 yards, with a touchdown.

The next time fans can see Belichick on the sidelines is Saturday, as the Tar Heels are on the road at the Charlotte 49ers. TCU will enjoy its 1-0 start with the weekend off, before it hosts Abilene Christian on Sept. 13.
