With Senior Bowl practices now wrapped up in Mobile, Alabama, all eyes are set on 'The Game' scheduled for Saturday, February 1st, kicking off at 2:30 PM ET at Hancock Whitney Stadium, broadcast live on NFL Network.
Throughout the American team's practices, one defensive standout shined brighter than a star in the midnight sky, capturing attention with his exceptional performances during a variety of drills.
On Friday, Texas Longhorns linebacker Barryn Sorrell, an NFL hopeful, stole the spotlight and earned 'Top Defensive Lineman' honors from the American Team’s offensive line during the Practice Player-of-the-Week Awards ceremony.
Before the Senior Bowl, Sorrell was on the verge of being overlooked on many NFL Draft boards. However, after an impressive week of practices in Mobile, the senior linebacker has likely boosted his stock, with an anonymous NFC scout suggesting he could now be in line for a potential fourth-round grade.
At the Senior Bowl check-in, Sorrell was measured at 6-foot-3 5/8 inches and weighed in at 253 pounds, slightly lighter than his listed weight of 260 at Texas. His hand size was recorded at 9.5 inches, with arm length measuring 32.5 inches and a wingspan of 6-foot-5 7/8 inches.
Sorrell served as an integral pieced to the Horns' feared defensive assault this past fall with six sacks total next to his name. He also showcased tremendous consistency as a three-year starter on defense, tallying 15.5 sacks during his rock solid tenure as a Longhorn.
With the 2025 NFL Draft just 82 days away, one team will be absolutely thrilled they took a chance on Barryn Sorrell when they call his name on draft night.
