Texas suffered significant injury news on Monday.

According to On Texas Football reporter Bobby Burton , Texas wide receiver Ryan Wingo is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury. Wingo is the presumed No. 1 wide receiver heading into the 2025 college football season alongside teammate DeAndre Moore.

However, Moore is already slated to miss the entirety of spring practices due to injury. That left Wingo as the only wide receiver or tight end on the roster that has recorded a reception.

Without Moore and Wingo, it provides opportunities for several depth players and young freshmen to see increased looks prior to the season. Sophomore wide receiver Parker Livingstone has had a fantastic spring thus far and will likely be quarterback Arch Manning's top target while Moore and Wingo are sidelined.

The two injuries also provide a great opportunity for highly-touted young receivers Kaliq Lockett, Jaime Ffrench and Michael Terry III to get more experience. Redshirt freshman Aaron Butler is in line for increased targets as well.

Texas will kick off the season in Columbus against Ohio State on Aug. 30. The Longhorns will certainly need Moore and Wingo healthy in order to defeat the reigning national champion.
