The Texas Longhorns are hosting the Clemson Tigers in the first round of the College Football Playoff, heading into the game as a 13.5-point favorite, per ESPN BET.
Texas enters the game with an 11-2 record, dominating the SEC in its first year in the conference. Their only two losses came at the hands of the SEC champion, the Georgia Bulldogs.
While the Longhorns are headed into the game looking to bounce back from the SEC title loss, they received some unfortunate news.
On Saturday, just before the 4 p.m. ET kick off, Longhorns star wide receiver Isaiah Bond was ruled out of the team's first-round matchup against Clemson.

Bond is currently playing in his first season with the Longhorns after transferring from Alabama during the offseason. In his lone season at Texas, he has produced five touchdowns and 532 yards on 33 receptions.
While he's a significant part of the Texas offense, especially in the slot, the Longhorns have reportedly ruled the star receiver out. Bond is nursing an ankle injury, which he suffered against the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC title game.
Fortunately, Texas has a plethora of studs at the wide receiver position who can step up in Bond's place. That includes Matthew Golden, Ryan Wingo and Silas Bolden.
The Longhorns also have a solid No. 1 running back in their arsenal, Jaydon Blue, who has recorded six touchdowns and 564 yards on 112 carries.
