Texas Longhorns Receive Critical Update on QB Quinn Ewers

Quinn Ewers was clearly dealing with a lower-body injury during Saturday's 31-14 win over Kentucky, and it limited his mobility in the pocket. Naturally, questions arose about the star quarterback's health following the game, but it sounds like he'll be in good shape ahead of this week's pivotal matchup against Texas A&M.

Per Orangebloods' Anwar Richardson's reporting, after undergoing a precautionary MRI on Sunday, Ewers was confirmed only to have a mild ankle sprain, quelling any concerns about his long-term availability.

"It's just a little tender," Ewers told reporters on Saturday. "Just gonna do as much treatment as I can. It was around the 50-yard line and I stepped up and kind of took off running a little bit and then kind of got hip-drop tackled. And I think he kind of just rolled up on it a little, but it's football and stuff like that happens."

Ewers already dealt with an oblique injury earlier this season that kept him sidelined for almost a month, so Longhorns fans held their breath when they saw Him hobbled. However, it sounds like he'll be good to go for this week's rivalry game against Texas A&M, which has massive implications for the SEC championship race and the College Football Playoff.
