The Texas Longhorns aim to build on their excellent June recruiting performance, with multiple top targets on campus this weekend. The program has already seen five commitments in the first half of the month; three of those came after last weekend's big recruiting weekend. The hope is that it could repeat itself seven days on.
The Longhorns will have four top-60 recruits in Austin, with just under 20 recruits in town this weekend from the 2026 class and beyond. Three of those are five-star prospects, according to On3 rankings—offensive tackle Felix Ojo, linebacker Xavier Griffin, and edge Bryce Perry-Wright.
The three commits from last weekend resulted in Texas jumping up in the team recruiting rankings, now sitting at No. 13, according to On3. They are still middle of the road when it comes to SEC teams, with five conference rivals ahead of them.
Steve Sarkisian has had top 6 recruiting classes in his last four complete cycles with the Longhorns. That included the No. 1 class last year, which included five-star players Jonah Williams, Lance Jackson, and Kade Phillips, who may feature on the field this season.
Texas fell short of their goals in 2024, losing the SEC Championship Game against the Georgia Bulldogs, their first season in the new conference. They also lost in the semifinal of the College Football Playoffs, going on to eventful national champs, the Ohio State Buckeyes. The goals remain the same this coming season despite a roster turnover, and Texas fans will finally get to see Arch Manning at quarterback.
