After the Longhorns lost to Ohio State on Saturday, the Texas coaching staff immediately shifted attention to the week ahead, focusing on recruiting efforts as the matchup with San Jose State looms.
On Monday, the Longhorns took to social media in an effort to recruit not just high school players, but in-state high school coaches, in an attempt to establish local relationships and pipelines for the players.

The Longhorns are inviting Texas high school coaches to gather in DKR on Saturday, for free, allowing them to truly witness all that Texas has to offer on the Forty Acres. By doing this, Texas can begin to build relationships with the coaches of many players that the Longhorns are recruiting, which will lead to increased success in recruiting for the future.
But that’s not to say that Texas isn’t already seeing success in the recruiting side of things. Since head coach Steve Sarkisian has arrived, the Longhorns have seen continuous success, even securing the No. 1-ranked class for 2025.
Currently, the Sarkisian and the Longhorns hold the No. 5 class for 2026, and they’re not done yet. But as the 2026 season begins, so does the time to begin making some of the first real pitches to 2027 recruits, and a couple of first impressions on 2028 recruits.
As it stands, the No. 7-ranked Longhorns will have at least 12 recruits in Austin on Saturday when they take on the Spartans. Two of the visitors are already committed, and while not included in the 12, two more recruits are possible.
With Sarkisian and the Longhorns priming themselves for success on the recruiting trail, here’s who fans can expect to be in DKR when Texas faces San Jose State at 11 a.m. CT on ABC:
